Auditions
Chicago-area Bellissima Opera & Song is casting for upcoming opera productions, specialty song concerts and outreach-in-the-classroom performances for 2024 and 2025. All performances are paid.
We are seeking local classically trained professional-level singers of all types (age, gender, gender-identity, race, voice-type).

Casting for forthcoming events include:
- July 20-21, 2024, 7:30pm. Summer Opera double-bill at Concordia University (River Forest). Excerpts from the new opera Outside the Ring and the complete 1-Act Comedic Opera Speed Dating Tonight by Michael Ching.
- Sept 14 & 21, 2024, 7:00pm. Spoon River Anthology Performance. Songs by Lita Grier and others relating to the famous literary work performed in the Hyde Park home where Edgar Lee Masters wrote the anthology.
- School Outreach performances: Daytime performances during the school-year directly in schools
- March 8, 2025: International Women’s Day Concert (Oak Park)
- July, 2025. Summer Opera. Pauline Viardot Garcia’s Le Dernier Sorcier paired with a 1-Act opera TBD.
- Other specialty concerts in 2025: TBD
- Future opera commission (2026 or later) based on a Native American Tale (women only)
